999 Family Fun Day Returns to Port Solent
Emergency services from across Hampshire will gather at Port Solent on Saturday 6th September for a community-focused 999 Family Fun Day, giving visitors the chance to learn more about the people, vehicles and organisations that help keep the region safe.
Families are invited to come along and meet real-life heroes from Hampshire’s fire and rescue, police, ambulance and coastguard services, who will be on hand to showcase some of their vehicles and equipment they use in their day-to-day roles.
The event will also feature the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance helicopter simulator, face painting, charity stalls, appearances from the RNLI mascot and a chance to meet some of Hampshire Fire & Rescue’s specially trained dogs.
Lisa Fowler, Events and Marketing Administrator at Port Solent said: “We’re delighted to once again host our 999 Family Fun Day.
“It’s always a highlight of our summer events calendar, not only is it a great family day out but it’s also a brilliant way to celebrate and thank the amazing people who keep our communities safe every day.”
The 999 Family Fun Day is free to attend on Saturday 6 September, 10am to 4pm, taking place in the first car park at Port Solent.
