Premier Marinas

Port Solent is home to Premier Marinas, a family friendly, locked marina offering secure and sheltered berthing for yachts and motorboats alike. Port Solent Marina hosts ample luxury facilities and a high standard of customer service. These excellent amenities have earned the marina The Yacht Harbour Association’s prestigious Five Gold Anchors Award.

The Port Solent Marina is a great place to berth your boat on an annual basis, with sheltered waters making the marina ideal for winter storage afloat and boat repairs. Working alongside a raft of marine service tenants, Premier Marinas offers a fully serviced boatyard for lift, wash and block off services. The Marina has plenty of room ashore to store up to 500 boats plus a good sized boatshed for delicate technical work.

Port Solent works closely with Premier Marinas to offer a unique dining, leisure and shopping experience to berth holders.

The Final Straw Solent

At Port Solent, we are proud to support The Final Straw Solent, a campaign which aims to reduce the use of single-use plastics along the Solent.

We are working with The Final Straw Solent in the hope of making Port Solent plastic straw-free, commiting to minimise the impact of plastic on the marine environment. Whilst we know this may be a challenge, it is one we are passionate about and we hope that our tenants and visitors will come on board and join us.

The Final Straw Solent is a group of people from all walks of life who have come together as a community to minimise the amount of plastic entering our local seas. Some of the biggest environmental problems are single-use straws, plastic bags and plastic packaging. The Final Straw Solent’s goal is to make the Solent a place where providing and using plastic straws and bags is not the norm. They aim to do this by encouraging local businesses to switch to paper straws and paper or reusable fabric bags.

Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation

This year, we are proud to help disadvantaged children get out on the water through partnering with the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation.

The Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation uses sailing to promote health and wellbeing and develop personal skills that will improve a young person’s ability to succeed in life and work. The charity facilitates a wider participation in sailing, encouraging children and young adults from all backgrounds to get out on the water, catering for a range of physical and educational abilities.

We chose to partner with the Andrew Simpson Foundation as we have a strong link with the marine industry. We host kids events and are a family destination, so a charity that helps children of all abilities get out on the water is very apt. It is a local foundation and the backstory of its founder, Andrew Simpson is truly inspiring.

The Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation will be seen fundraising throughout the year at Port Solent, as well as giving sailing information and advice to visitors at events including the Bank Holiday Live Music event at the end of May and Comic Con.

Port Solent will also be hosting Watersports Weekends with the charity, which will involve giving visitors the opportunity to get on the water in a kayak or SUP. This will take place in a sectioned off area in the Port Solent marina. To find out more about the Watersports Weekends, click here.
