Port Solent’s Festival of Christmas to return this winter

The Port Solent Festival of Christmas event is back this winter, bigger and better than ever.  This unique shopping experience has become a staple in the Hampshire festive calendar and returns in 2019 on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December.

Twenty five thousand people wrapped up warm and visited the event last year including Paralympian and Strictly Come Dancing 2018 contestant Lauren Steadman on a weekend which saw a 14 per cent increase in visitors from 2017.

This year’s Festival of Christmas features more than 90 stalls selling an array of special, handcrafted gifts - from chocolates and chutney, to decorations, to personalised jewellery.

There will also be live entertainment and music across the weekend, including performances from The Pompey Pluckers, Purbrook Community Choir and the Portsmouth City Band, balloon modellers, festive street theatre acts and much more.

Port Solent’s Lisa Fowler, said: “We love how much the Festival of Christmas has grown over the last few years and people are returning year after year and making it a tradition to pay us a visit and pick up some great homemade and unique gifts for loved ones which can’t be found on the high street.

“With more than 90 stalls lined up, plus an exciting array of live entertainment, this year’s Festival of Christmas can’t fail to get you in the festive spirit, so don’t miss it.”
